Château Smith Haut Lafitte Pessac Leognan 2002
|Region||France, Bordeaux, Pessac-Leognan|
|Brand||Château Smith Haut Lafitte|
Aromatically there is a fragrant mixture of red and black fruit (strawberries, black cherries and blackberries) as well as licorice, spice, and flowers (violets), joined by a discreet expression of wood (toasted brioche). On the palate, the wine has a balanced attack, evolving to a pronounced expression of power, richness and roundness. The finish is long, reprising elements of black fruit, licorice, violet.
Superpretty red with licorice, plums and Indian spices that follow through to a full-bodied palate, with silky tannins and a long, long finish. Very pretty indeed. All in finesse. Best after 2007. 8,330 cases made.
