Martinelli Zio Tony Ranch Pinot Noir 2011
|Region||California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley|
This was one of the coolest growing years on record in the last 30 years, especially during the month of June. Due to the cool weather, harvest was later than usual. These wines will age well, and show more structure due to the increased acidity from the cooler growing season. The 2011 Zio Tony Ranch Pinot Noir has aromas of ripe black cherry, black plum, cinnamon, and cloves. This wine is concentrated with layers of voluptuous black cherry and black raspberry preserves, and a long and velvety finish.
Supple-textured, with ripe plum, raspberry and black cherry notes, featuring touches of anise and loamy earth. Turns dry and tannic on the finish. Drink now through 2017. 548 cases made.
